Privacy Policy for What
Matters
What matters to us is your confidence in us.
This policy was last updated on September 30, 2010.
Our Commitment to Online Security
At What Matters (a division of the McGrath Buckley Consulting Group), we take
your privacy seriously. We are committed to insuring that your personal and
financial information is always totally secure. To that end, we pledge that:
We have not, do not now and will not ever sell, rent, loan or give your e-mail address or other personal information to anybody; and, we have not, do not now and will not
ever sell, rent, loan or give your name or personal information to any third
party without your express permission.
By visiting our website, you accept and agree to the terms
and conditions of this privacy policy. In particular, you consent to our
collection and use of your personal information as described in this privacy
policy.
Our Use of Your Personal Information
You can visit almost all of the pages of this site without giving us any
information. We collect information when you sign up for our newsletter, accept
one of our offers or purchase some of our products or services. We also may use
your information to serve you and connect with you as a part of our company’s
business operations—to respond to inquiries or complaints, to share new
services, to make special offers or even to notify you about changes in the
company or our website.
When you subscribe to our Two Minute Tips
e-newsletter, it is sent to your e-mail address from our server, using an
e-news service we purchase. We alone hold that e-mail address. Occasionally, we
may send subscribers special offers from What Matters or on behalf of third
parties. Again, these third parties do not have access to your information; the
email is sent directly from What Matters.
Anyone who has given us their information may immediately remove their
data by contacting our office via
or 651-603-0441.
We frequently make free offers (we call them “Get Growing Gifts”) to those who visit our
site—a free White Paper, an e-book, an opportunity to attend a mini-seminar; or
other ways to experience how we do business without any cost to you. We require
only first name and e-mail address to make good on our promise to deliver this
information. When giving us that information, visitors are automatically added
to our newsletter subscription list, unless they opt out. Our goal is to keep
data collection to a minimum.
Payment Information
You can purchase products and services on the What Matters site. This requires more disclosure
of personal information; our shopping cart provides security via Sterling
Payment Technologies. Payments by credit or debit
card require us to collect information related to the transaction as part of
the course of doing business with you, including your billing address,
telephone number and other information related to the transaction, as required
by your chosen payment company.
Who Sees Your Information
At What Matters, only authorized employees may access your information. All
employees are required to adhere to our strict privacy policies, and any
employee who violates the privacy policy is subject to termination and other
disciplinary measures, up to being criminally prosecuted for their violation.
Computer Tracking and Cookies
Our website is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information not
entered by visitors. The site logs generate specific kinds of non-identifying
site usage data (number of visits, number of hits, etc.). This information,
which contains no personal information and cannot be used to gather personal
information, is used for internal purposes to provide better services.
In simple English, cookies are small amounts of data sent to our browser from a
Web server and then stored on our hard drive. The cookies do not generate any
personal data, do not read personal data from your machine and are never tied
to anything that could be identified with you. You can use our sites even if your
browser is set to reject cookies.
Links to Third Party Sites
This website contains links to other web sites (Third Party Sites) that are
not controlled by What Matters. We cannot control nor are we responsible for
the privacy practices of such other sites. If you use a link from our site,
make sure you read the privacy statements on those links. Our Privacy Policy
only applies to information collected on our site.
Protection of Children's Personal Information
What Matters is a business site, designed for an adult audience. While it may
be viewed by children, we have no intent to receive data from children. It is
our strict policy that visitors under the age of 18 may not submit information
to—nor post information at—this site without express written consent from a
parent or legally authorized guardian.
Changes to What Matters Privacy Policy
From time to time, we may update this policy. If there are material changes, we
will include a formal notice of such prominently on our site, as well as in our
newsletter and in all offers. For simpler changes, we will simply note the date
changed at the top of the privacy policy.
Enforcement of this Privacy Policy and Contact Information
At any time, and for any reason, if you have concerns that your privacy has
been violated because of our site, please contact us immediately by or call us at 651-603-0441. Your privacy matters to us and we will do everything possible to figure out what the problem is and fix it.
